Three-in-10 are failing the Australian citizenship test

More than one-third of people taking the citizenship test are failing, new data shows.

Since the 2022 Federal Election, more than 288,000 citizenship tests have been taken – with more than one-third failing.

But changes made by the previous Coalition government have made passing more difficult.

From 20 questions, at least 75 per cent have to be correct. On five questions covering “Australian values”, not a single response can be wrong.
