State Minister Semasinghe announced that therefore, permission for the importation of vehicles will be granted by August this year According to media reports,
Minister revealed that under the first phase, permission will be given for the import of vehicles required for business and transportation purposes.
“Regarding the easing of restrictions on vehicle imports, the government will inform its position by August and how the restrictions will be removed,” Minister said.
He stressed that it is not possible to lead the country back to the era of import restrictions by taking actions solely targeting the election.
