Victoria could be forced to pause major infrastructure projects

Victoria’s workforce may be too small to meet its target of building 80,000 homes each year.

The state government could be forced to consider pausing major infrastructure projects to free up workers.

A recent decline in construction employees could push the government to intake more skilled migrants to take up the slack.

Victoria’s building and construction industry generated 333,000 jobs in August.

This was 21,000 less than in May.
