Victoria drivers could soon be told location of speed cameras

Drivers in Victoria could soon be alerted to the location of speed cameras by police, as union members vote in favour of industrial action.

The idea is police members will alert drivers of red lights and speed cameras by positioning their vehicles nearby.

The move comes as 99 per cent of police union members voted in favour of industrial action next month.

They are looking for ways to demonstrate to the state government, that they are unhappy pay negotiations have stalled.

The union members have been looking for a four per cent wage increase, better overall working conditions, and a move to nine-hour shifts.
