WA cultural heritage laws repealed

Western Australia’s controversial cultural heritage laws which were scrapped after just one month, have been officially repealed.

It follows frustration from farmers and landowners who found them complicated.

The state’s Opposition says scrapping them is a win for ‘people power’.

More than 30,000 confused and frustrated landowners signed a petition calling to remove the act.

Western Australia Liberal Leader Libby Mettam described the Cook government as “out of touch”.
