Wanted vehicle found parked in the Airport for over a month

Officials from the Elpitiya Special Crimes Investigation Division have taken custody of a vehicle that had been parked at the car park of the arrival terminal of the Katunayake Airport.

It is reported that the motorcar, a Nissan Bluebird, has been parked at the location since May 29, 2024.

Investigations have found that the vehicle belongs to a resident of Ambalangoda and is a wanted vehicle related to an ongoing case at the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court. 

Following a court order, Officials from the Elpitiya Special Crimes Investigation Division took custody of the vehicle this afternoon.

The vehicle had been left at the parking lot of the arrival terminal of the Katunayake Airport for over a month. The Katunayake Airport authorities and police had investigated the car. (Newswire)
